Thanksgiving Day is a state holiday in the USA and Canada and is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada, and on the fourth Thursday of November in the USA.
This holiday is replete with traditions. Several generations of one family gather in the house of the elder generation for a holiday dinner. Everyone pronounces thanksgiving words for everything positive that has happened in his life. Most Americans eat the same dishes as their ancestors. Most dishes are not simply a tradition, but a kind of holiday symbol: turkey stuffed with cranberry jam and a big pumpkin pie. Bright pumpkins, apples, nuts, oranges, leaves and bunches of grapes symbolize not only the traditional decoration of the table but also the abundance of natural gifts. It is a wonderful holiday, its meaning and idea. European girls also know about this holiday and in some families, it is celebrated. Isn’t it a wonderful reason to gather around the table and just have a wonderful dinner? If you are communicating with some foreign woman it is a great time to express your feelings and thank her for something pleasant.
