One of the most glorious events in the pagan calendar of the ancient Slavs celebrated by different sources the end of October - beginning of November. The name os this Goddess is Mokosh. Mokosh is the patroness of young girls and women, the goddess of marriage and childbirth, the goddess of femininity. The fair sex is turning to her for help in family matters - birth, children, family happiness, etc.

According to the scientists, historians and archaeologists sources, the Mokosh's Day is one of the oldest holidays. Cults of Mokosh was found even in ancient times, such as 40 thousand years ago. In addition, Mokosh is such a revered goddess that every Friday is the day of remembrance of the saint women's patron.

The symbols of Mokosh are silver, rock crystal, moonstone, cat, spinning wheel. People brought yarn, ball of wool, spindles to the pagan temple, as it was thought that Mokosh spun human destiny. Her constant helpers Fate and Misfortune help her. Fate spins smooth, good fortune, and Misfortune creates problems of failure. This festive day, women must not spin, wash, bathe the children, as Makosh may be angry at a person who fails to comply with the old traditions.

At the temple, people put the idol of Mokosh, which is made of aspen (female wood), with horns on the head and a cornucopia in the hands. This holiday people join hands and lead a double ring dance. One ring (external) turns clockwise, the other - widdershins counterclockwise.

It is worth mentioning that the assistants of Mokosh are spiders. That is why it is considered a lucky omen when the web enters the face.
