January 11 is the World Thank You Day. It is the most polite day of the year. All of us are aware of the meaning of good manners, and their necessity in everyday life, but we mostly express gratitude not thinking of the sense of it. However, thanks have magic meaning; using them people express joy and attention we cannot live without. It is no wonder that in any tourist guide the word “thanks” is one on the top list. Pronounced even with an accent it increases the speed and quality of servicing. By the way, do you know that unlike the English “thank you” the Russian equivalent “spasibo” has a long history? It dates back to the 16th century when it appeared from the phrase “Save God”. Psychologists say thanks are oral strokes; they can calm down and warm. It should only go from the bottom of your heart. There is a belief among Russian women that it is not allowed to thank when you are annoyed. Find time to make a phone call to your bride from Eastern Europe or express your feelings in a letter thanking your lovely Slavic bride for anything.
