International Women’s Day is an international holiday for women that celebrates the achievements of European women in political, economic, and social spheres; it celebrates the past, present, and future of women of the Planet. The holiday is celebrated by the Organization of United Nations, and in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, China, and Bulgaria is a national holiday.
In 1910 the Second International Conference of Working Women was held in Copenhagen. The leader of the Women’s Group of the Social democratic party of Germany Clara Zetkin proposed the idea of celebrating International Women’s Day. The goal of this holiday Zetkin called the fight of women for their rights.
International Women’s Day is a holiday for every European girl. It reflects several century-old fights of women for equal rights with men.
If you are far from your foreign pen pal it is a wonderful day to send her flowers or a postcard.
