08/31/2017Indian Summer is the golden time. It is a warm particle of summer that comes usually at the end of August or during September, after a tangible cooling. Often during this period, the plants that usually bloom once a year start to bloom again. This is a stunningly beautiful time when it seems to be summer, but autumn has spread its magnificent carpet. A variety of leaves, and bright petals, like burning precious stones. All this creates positive emotions, and raises the mood, and people become softer, as nature itself seems to soothe and adjust to kindness and pacification.
Why is Indian summer called this way? The very first mention was associated with the time when older women could bask in the sun before the cold for the last time that year. All fieldwork came to an end, and the village peasants took on other business: they drenched, fluttered and weaved flax.
Indian summer is not a meteorological term, it is a usual name for the period of dry and warm weather in September and the first half of October in Europe and North America.
According to the Slavic Old Calendar the Indian Summer or the so-called "golden season" was divided into several names. The young Indian summer "stood" in the interval from August 28 to September 11. And the old one was from 14 to 24 September. Initially, this period simply showed which autumn would be. There were definite signs. But then the Indian summer began to be associated with a warm and dry period when nature makes it possible to enjoy the last sunny days before the cold weather.
