Russian Women Wanted to Look Like Her in the Mid of 20th Century
07/08/2016
This week Gina Lollobrigida the sex symbol of mid 20th century has celebrated her 89 birthday. Not so long ago all the russian ladies and ukrainian girls of former Soviet Union wanted to look similar.

The future actress had no desire to link her life to the movie, she dreamed about the career of the artist, or, at worst, a sculptor. As a child, she was not bad at drawing, and even having been a teenager she earned money as a street caricaturist. Along the way, Gina studied at the Opera School, because her second great passion was singing. To the cinema, she came quite by accident, and not in the search of fame but to earn for living. But after the first episode she was invited to screen more and more, until in 1952 she starred in the title role in the film "Fanfan la Tulipe" with Gerard Philippe. The movie has become incredibly popular around the world and Gina was immediately declared "the most beautiful woman in the world".

During her career, Gina starred in many films, her partners were Humphrey Bogart, Yul Brynner, Frank Sinatra, Tony Curtis and Jean-Paul Belmondo.

In 1970 she finished her acting career and took up photojournalism and sculpting. She released several books. Now she leads an active social life, participates in charity events and she still prefers bright décolleté dresses.
